Chaos

Wasn't my intent to off-orbit the planets,
And I really didn't mean to move the stars,
I just thought Venus would look prettier
If it were right up next to Mars.

Life

If life was anything like the books,
We'd all be princes and queens.

If life was anything like the movies,
We'd all have money and dreams.

But life is nothing like a fantasy realm,
It is true with sadness and sorrow.

It is a tale of woe and heartbreak,
But we must go on for there is always tomorrow.

One?

Is there one that moves me
To depths of perilous desire?
Is there one that raises me
To the heights I do aspire?

And with his soul poetic,
His words; they echo mine,
Could he be some forgotten twin
I meet now by fate's design?

of rain and rainbows

The rain may fall and wash
The smiles off children's faces.
It could wash away a lifetime's toil,
And erase any hardwork's traces.

It could even force the sun-proud day
To don a cloak of sombre grey.
But there is one thing you should always remember,
There is one thing you should never forget:

That no matter how hard it can rain,
A rainbow will always pay off the debt.

tug-of-war

Unravel me,
Pull me to pieces,
Build me up,
Complete me with kisses.

Shape me with touches,
Break me with sighs,
Mould me with lips,
Melt me with cries.

Make me whole,
Diminish me slowly,
Cast me with caresses,
Erode me, but hold me.

Why do we play this tug of war?

Ghetto Rock

The White Powder which infects the veins of the Black Streets.
The Stones mined in Africa which corrupt the Black Elite.
The Sound which can't be imitated and is the heart of the Black Beat.

Cocaine,
Diamonds
and Hip-Hop.

Word

With just a word, I was slew,
Broken heart amid morning dew.
Mind the bearing to which your heart does lean,
For your words can hurt things which are unseen.

So this is what's up-

Ok I'm moving all my poetry onto this page- and I'll probably be deleting the "Like Running With Scissors" page- or mabye I'll keep it for the funny posts- who knows.... but for now, for sure...all poetry will be posted here :)

I Miss You

as i walk alone in the cold rain,
my mind drifted away to the past.
to what we used to be

to the secrets we used to share.
how i wish you were here with me,
sharing the umbrella in this lonely yet cold night.

whispering sweet nothings
in my ear
i miss you so much

Check out the new digs!

Hey everybody...

I know this posting is new..but the view is great from here! As you can see I am evolving in my blogging-slash-computer savy- this is an actual photo that I took whilst on vacation in Jamaica!

Aren't you impressed?!?! I am!

Alright..it's poker night tonight so I'll be going now...I'll try to keep this blog more for my profound prose then a day by day account...so who knows... I may end up posting more poetry from the other blogs- we'll see how my fancy flies.

Ciao for now!

* * * * *

on your statuesqueness

Since I've put you
Up upon
That pedestal,
My neck aches
From looking up
So often,

So maybe I should
Bring you back
Down to size,
And look you
In the eye

As my equal.
